Ideal size for the position, listed at 6’3 218lbs. Redshirt sophomore but played like a senior with his understanding of the system he played in. Stroud is possibly the most natural “pure passer” coming out in this draft. His throwing motion is fluid, and it never looks like he’s putting much effort in his throws. Good arm strength and possesses good accuracy as well. Tape shows his understanding of anticipation and touch. Possesses good mobility and can pickup a first down. Even though stroud is accurate, at times he can have lapses in his mechanics and will miss easy throws. Tape shows he can be flustered in the pocket. And even though Stroud has good mobility he shows a reluctance to run. Played in a system that relied on heavily on pre-determined reads, so growing pains are to be expected. With everything said Stroud is QB1 most years but is my QB2. If he lands in a place that’s patient and let’s him learn/develop he’s a franchise QB. His comp is Jared Goff with more mobility.
