Has the frame and body type that teams will covet for workhorse duties. Charbonnet displays an ability to stiff-arm defenders, behind the LOS in poor blocking situations, creating yardage on his own. Effective in both zone and gap schemes. Gets downhill fast and once he gets a full head of steam in the open field, can be a difficult back to bring down. Overall good play strength paired up with very good contact balance, both directly and indirectly. Not an elusive runner and does not make defenders miss in tight spaces. Lacks the burst and explosiveness to hit home run plays consistently. Needs to improve his pad level as he runs upright, leaving his frame exposed to violent hits. Good pass catcher out of the backfield, catching with his hands and not his frame. Average route runner. Needs to improve pass blocking technique as he has the physical traits to be effective but always has his head down before contact. Charbonnet is a good back who can eventually be a starter down the road.
