If you could draw up the ideal looking starter this might be it. Big, athletic, great delivery and arm action. Might possess the best pure velocity FB from a starter since Nolan Ryan. It doesn't quite play like that and his FB quality/movement has always seemed a little light for a guy throwing that hard. He AVERAGES triple digits though and can run it up to well above that. The secondary stuff is coming along and I think both the slider and change will end up plus or better in the end. Best part is he throws strikes. It will take him some time to develop into the front line guy I think he's capable of. And a guy that throws this hard is always risky. However, he's still only 22 and more refinement is coming.
