Great size (6’3 195lbs) would like to see him add 10-15lbs at the next level. Lined up a bit in the slot in college but will be better served on the outside. Good release but not a quick twitch guy. A tough runner that doesn’t go down easy with the ball in his hands. Ran a 4.47 at the combine but seems to play faster on tape. Has strong hands, absolute vice grip when catching. Catching in traffic doesn’t seem to be a problem for him. Will lay out for passes, you won’t find many WRs coming out with a catch radius as good as Pickens. Will need to polish route running just average at best right now. More physical than elusive. Tape showed him in more 50/50 situations than you’ll like, raises concern about separation at next level. Coming off an ACL tear last spring will need to monitor. Pickens is a natural football player that will make plays at the next level. If he can stay healthy and become technically sound in his craft he could be the best WR in this draft. He will be a Day 2 Pick.
