Average size (6’0 183lbs) but could add 10-15lbs. A “chess piece” of a player that lined up on the outside and in the slot. A technician at the position. Knows how to get off the line with a great release and understands the nuances of route running. Has good elusiveness and run after catch ability. His 4.38 40 time shows on tape. Great short area burst and is dangerous in open space. Excellent hands rarely drops open passes. Still needs to learn how to sit in zones. Biggest concern is Wilson’s slight frame and he’s not a physical WR. Tape shows he doesn’t seem to want to dig out defenders on blocks. Also seems to have a hard time catching in traffic or with a DB on his hip. Garret Wilson has WR1 potential for a team with creative passing attack. At the same time his size and lack of physicality can have him as a WR3 or slot player at the next level.
